Sound level meter generally consists of capacitor microphone, preamplifier, attenuator, amplifier, frequency meter network and RMS indicator head. The working principle of sound level meter is as follows: sound is converted into electrical signal by microphone, and impedance is changed by preamplifier, so that microphone matches attenuator. The amplifier adds the output signal to the network, carries on the frequency meter weight (or the external filter) to the signal, then amplifies the signal to the certain amplitude through the attenuator and the amplifier, sends to the effective value detector.



Precautions for use:



1. When measuring, the instrument should choose the correct gear according to the situation, hold both sides of the noise meter with both hands, and point the microphone to the measured sound source. Extended cables and rods can also be used to reduce the influence of the noise meter appearance and human body on the measurement. The use location of the noise meter shall be determined in accordance with relevant regulations.



2. Calibration of amplifier gain: the meter function switch is set to "0" and the "attenuator" is set to "calibration". At this time, the meter pointer should be at the red line, otherwise the sensitivity potentiometer needs to be adjusted.



3. The sensor is an expensive part which is extremely delicate and easily damaged. Please handle it with care during the whole experiment. After the experiment, remove the sensor and place it in the designated place.



4. The instrument should be kept away from places with high temperature, humidity, sewage, dust and air or chemical gas with high content of hydrochloric acid and alkali.



5. Replace the battery voltage of the noise meter when it is insufficient.
