Most biosafety cabinet air filters are not recommended for repeated cleaning and use, because the microporous structure of the filter may be damaged by cleaning, thus affecting the filtration effect. Filters need to be replaced regularly to ensure the effectiveness of the biosafety cabinet.

For some HEPA filters, the manufacturer may provide cleaning and regeneration services. Before cleaning, it is necessary to remove the filter and clean the surface, and use appropriate cleaning agents and tools during cleaning to avoid mechanical damage to the filter. After cleaning, the filter needs to be dried and regenerated to restore the filtering effect of the filter.

It should be noted that for some filters that may contain harmful microorganisms and biohazard substances, the cleaning process may produce hazardous waste and pollution, which requires special treatment and compliance with relevant laws, regulations and code requirements. It is recommended to read the instructions and operation guidelines provided by the manufacturer carefully before cleaning, or consult professional technicians.

To replace the filter of the biosafety cabinet, follow the following steps:

Confirm the biosafety cabinet model and filter specifications, and select the HEPA filter that meets the requirements.

Close the biosafety cabinet and unplug it.

Open the front panel of the biosafety cabinet and remove dust and dirt from around the old filter.

Remove the old filter and dispose of it according to the filter replacement instructions.

Wipe the inside of the filter tank with a clean damp cloth or cotton swab to remove dust and dirt.

Remove the new filter and place it in the filter tank in its specified direction. Make sure the filter is firm and not loose.

Close the front panel of the biosafety cabinet, plug it in, and open the biosafety cabinet.

Perform filter tests to check that the air flow is normal and there is no air leakage.
