Dust particle counter is used to measure the number and size distribution of dust particles per unit volume in clean environment, thus providing a basis for the evaluation of air cleanliness. The basic principle is that the sensing laser of the sensor is scattered by the dust particles and received by the photosensitive element and generates pulse signals. The pulse signals are output and amplified, and then processed by digital signals. By comparing with the standard particle signals, the results are expressed with different parameters. The instrument's measurement parameters setting, measurement results display, key, timing, printing, time, date, data storage and so on are controlled and realized by the built-in microcomputer, the instrument can display the environment temperature and humidity and monitor and report the working state of the laser particle sensor at the same time.



Laser dust particle counter is a common dust particle counter in recent years. It is light scattering type, and the particle size range is 0.3-10μm. In addition, there are laser dust particle counter with condensed nucleus, which can measure small dust particles.



As the key component of the dust particle counter, the light source has great influence on the performance of the instrument. The light source requires high stability, long life and no interference. It is understood that the light source of laser dust particle counter has two kinds of ordinary light source and laser light source. The laser dust particle counter with ordinary light source has a very low response to the particle signal below 0.3μm, and its signal amplitude is almost the same as the noise amplitude of the counter itself, so it is difficult to detect the signal from the noise. Although marked with a channel of 0.3μm, this instrument is only suitable for the determination of particles larger than 0.3μm, especially particles larger than 0.5μm. Because of the good monochromicity of the laser, the concentration of light energy is stable, so the laser dust particle counter sensor using the laser light source has a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and is widely used in the medicine, electronics industry.
